And here I was losing hope that we'd ever get another piece in the near future. We are so back

I fucking love your insane lore, man.

Also an Anglo-French para and an Anglo-Dutch-Norwegian Marine division is great work.

The Army Spec Ops guys are going into Russia, aren't they?

We are so back.

Funnily enough I was just looking for anything you've posted today, crazy coincidence!

Reconstructionist's avatar

moving twice last year and starting two different jobs really threw off my production schedule. really glad to get back into the groove of writing!

That armour the special forces have sounds a lot like Mjolnir armour from Halo

Nice to have you back

Great to see you back Victory !!

Just wanted to ask a few questions about how 1st Mar Div differs from the 6th/1st Advance Force.

You say all three regiments of 1st Div are tracked - does that mean that all three possess the same outline as 6th Div’s mechanized regiment ?

The twin artillery regiments of 1st Div - are they the same as 6th Div’s one ?

Do both divisions have the same ADA outline, or no ?

And lastly, how does 1st Div’s armored component differ from the 6th’s ?

Reconstructionist's avatar

Yeah the 1s MarDiv is all LFV track regiments.

The arty regiments are likely one HIMAGS and one HIMARS 3 battalions a piece (was probably 4 a piece during the war).

I'd say 1st MarDiv has LFV based SHORAD so the MAV-AD turrets on LFV chassis and the normal LFV missile AD?

It'd have a TD battalion and MARBn, perhaps might have two MARCAV MBT companies attached to their TDs but one company be a reserve formation

Wanted to ask, do you have an email address for further questions ? Ever since the first iteration was posted years ago, I wanted to ask some in-depth equipment and TO&E questions.

you can DM on bluesky (https://bsky.app/profile/unavaleable.bsky.social) or discord (unavaleable), or send an email to reconstructionistest@gmail.com

I suspect that bascinet is lowballed. Being a helmet that's potentially sitting on the shoulders instead of something resting on the neck, I think you could get away with a major jump in resistance, potentially to mildly reduced velocity tungsten with blunt trauma risks from full velocity.

Further... Jesus you've made a scary sounding machine. I'll hazard a guess that SPAR is practically impervious to small arm, and with lv3 package resistant to heavy machine gun fire? I also suspect you've got datalink tied into there... Novel firemission spotter?

Reconstructionist's avatar

Yeah i'm kinda torn between aesthetically having it resting on the neck with extra support by having it also rest on the spinal battery back situation just cus your space suit style shoulder resting look a bit extra dorky... but not fully decided.

the broiler suit itself is roughly Level IIIA all aspect armor, with "burnt SPAR" being one round (ish) resistance to 14.5mm protection

absolutely has a datalink and the spotter mission ties directly into the counter SMU and extremely aggressive LRRP capes.

Koishi's avatar

I think you could get away with introductory rifle armor baseline (or at least the reduced velocity thing ECH has going on) and genuine heavy machine gun protection.

Charred would probably be able extend rifle protection everywhere while Burnt would offer you a degree of survival chance if for some reason you wanted to face down a DSHK or something.

Stealth capability? Thermoptics, etc, or is it just assumed "yeah take cover and watch a drone feed for bad guys before making a big bound"

Reconstructionist's avatar

yeah like 75% of the time the guys would be crispy (forgor that was what i wanted to have that tier called) so you can have peak mobility (which is more important for counter SOF work), 15% in charred when you're in an assault or big fight, 5% in burnt if you're a breach and need to tank shots for days, 5% in raw if you're up to something funky.

optical camo is very much employed, but its so expensive/tricky to maintain the MSORC fellas are the only ones to make regular use of it

i think the big thing about SPAR is that you can sorta buffalo run any SOF force into the ground, real hunter-gatherer hours, or just cross insane distance with very little footprint. Going Spartan/Crysis mode is really just icing on the cake.

Koishi's avatar

i have a vision of like, a spar pointman just muscling through an mg42 burst at two meters during a high prio mission or something.

can you imagine the tales survivors would tell.

Great to see you back my man. What’s next? Also gotta ask who else uses the booker? I could see Japan and possibly Britain using them but who else

Reconstructionist's avatar

Plan to get back to some narrative stuff.

Booker is mostly American, its probably lend leased to some allies during the war but won't stick around, i reckon. I can see the italians developing a lighter MBT and the Japanese Type 10 is 48 tonnes to begin with so they don't need a tracked assault gun

Koishi's avatar

The italians should get NLOS VLS vehicles. Datalink ATGMs over them mountains and hills. /unhinged

Abramslvr's avatar

What kind of narrative stuff? And how far is the book?

Charlton Cussans's avatar

We'd be using Chally 4 at this point, and our Marines aren't meant to have heavy armour.

If we needed a TD we'd be using Birmstone Boxer.

Koishi's avatar

I wonder if britain ends up keeping tanks though. it's an expeditionary army first and foremost.

Charlton Cussans's avatar

I think by Second Sino we'd try to have a Marine Brigade, an Airborne Brigade and an Armoured Division ready to go.
