Ahh ok, so this is like later but also earlier of the original stories? I had kinda figured but I wasn’t sure where the shift actually happened or realized it, I was kinda just looking for more of pre shift stuff. I do read the post shift too. Neat world building!
its our altered future interacting with our altered past (not really interested in grandfather paradox stuff so its very intentionally different timeline)
This may have been asked before, but is CERFOR able to use their fabricators and local materials to construct orbital rockets and comms/surveillance satellites?
its less construct and more assemble? they the materials to make more second stages for the Neutrons and have agnostic sat buses to put things together, but definitely can kludge together sats... rockets are a lot of harder
well the neutrons themselves are entirely reusable, the second stage is not... there are definitely going to be a LOT of awful attempts at reusable rockets in the 50s lol
I'm assuming the reason they haven't put some commsats in orbit is because it's only two months after Departure and the Certs don't want to play all their cards yet (given how visible a launch would be)?
Neutron doesn't have the oomf to put something serious into geostationary orbit. More importantly what kit they have for their existing buses is really like patch work "fix a whole in a network" stuff instead of building a global network johnny on the spot
Hey just wanted to say thank you so much for the extremely cool story, not just this post but the whole thing. It’s actually my birthday today and checking my email and seeing this was amazing and unexpected little gift
the roughly 20,000 tons of material is equivalent to 60% of what was unloaded at Noumea (capital of new caledonia) in an entire month. OTL the USN deliver 5,259 tons to Cactus in November and 7,271 tons in December so lol lmao modern shipping rocks
Some of the undamaged transports did continue to unload the morning after Super Savo. So its not substantially different than OTL, but is moderately less. However, things turn around a lot quicker (and Vandy has an overall larger force with all of 2nd Marines and 2nd Raiders)
Quick question, are we ever going to get a continuation of the April Fools video & the war in the Marianas?
I will definitely return to the pre-shift era of Double Victory... I don't think another video is likely though

yeah this vignette takes place, chronologically, 5 years and 4 months (ish) *after* the start of Second Sino, and about two months after the Departure
Ahhhh, ok. Is this like a separate timeline? Or are they also changing their past?

Freaky deaky👀
Yo let's fuckin go! Moar Post!

Neutrons out of Gennie materials and with Gennie tech sounds like a nightmare

oh they do have comms in orbit... its just *incredibly* patchy

oh what a coincidence! happy birthday! i appreciate the kind words
Huh, I never thought about the fact that the gennies might not understand that we have more states. Also god fuck that’s a lot of firepower

WHAT, that’s fucking insane. Also what boats got sent
Huh you killed Kelly Turner
Yup.
Well at least he won't develop his drinking problem. Man the 1st MAR DIV have even less food, medical supplies and asswipe.

I do love how we're getting the M1 but better with the T20
and belt-fed M1941 Johnsons!
Certs are smart enough to bring house warming gifts after showing up uninvited
I've admittedly never cared for the Johnson's. They always looked so goofy to me.
Love your stuff keep it up
Thank you! i really appreciate comments like these
